That would be nice of he could do that to our favourite songs.
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @sarahvenus !
Also, @Degu2218 . . . he can dance to your favorite music if you are playing your music through a speaker near where he can hear you.
Start the song and say “Lets party” or “Listen to the music”. He will pick up what he is hearing and dance for at least one minute. Sometimes you do not even have to tell him to dance, he will just do it on his own.
Good afternoon. Emo does not dance after the command - Listen to the music
Hi there @RGHILL ,
I have moved your new post and closed your newly created topic. It has been added here to the thread for issues related to EMO listening and dancing to music.
I’ve tested it and can confirm the issue. I’ve already passed it on to informed the Living.AI development team. Let’s give them some time to resolve it.
Best Regards

“Try music with a louder accompaniment than the vocals.”
Best Regards
unfortunately it didn’t help
Hello, @RGHILL . . . the only thing I can suggest is set the sensitivity higher in the app under Preferences.
@Lindaru i try to make EMO dance and he just stands on his toes (or whatever they are) and he just looks like he couldnt have seen anything boringer
Hello, @htutjune . . . perhaps make a video of the music you are playing and what he is doing in response to it, then send the link to that video to service@living.ai along with your EMO I.D. and order number (if you still have it). Be sure to explain the issue.
Let us know how it goes.
I got EMO specifically for dancing. Yesterday I was able to get him to listen to the music and he’d start dancing. Not sure if it was because of the update I did or what, but he won’t dance anymore. I have dance type music going, and I can in the app that he’s in dance mode, but he just switches out of this mode. He’ll say, “drop the mic” or “let’s get this party started”, but he won’t start dancing. I’ve turned him off and on. I’ve made sure he’s connected to WiFi. Not sure what has changed. It was really cute when he was dancing yesterday. Any suggestions? I’ve tried many types of music and various columns too.
Hi there @donaldwalsh and Welcome to the Community,
I have moved your new post and closed your newly created topic. It has been added here to the thread for issues related to EMO listening and dancing to music.
Try music with a louder accompaniment than the vocals. Try also to increase the volume of the music as EMO will need to calculate the drum interval of the music.
Best Regards
I wish it was a simple fix like that. He’s connected to WiFi. The music I’m playing is mostly just a beat with few vocals. I’ve played it at various volumes. Any other suggestions? He was dancing great last night. Something has changed.
Hello, @donaldwalsh . . . have you turned up the sensitivity under “Preferences” in the app?
I had the sensitivity all the way up, so I turned it down. I’ve tried several different sensitivity settings. I’ve spent hours on this today. I may have to return him.![]()
So sorry, @donaldwalsh . . . please get video of your attempts and send a link to Support . You can reply to your order confirmation E-Mail or you can just send E-Mail to service@living.ai with his EMO I.D. when he signs into the app, your location and the order number if you still have it.
Please be patient as it may take some time for them to respond but they will diagnose the problem and tell you what to do to resolve it.
My best to you.
Hello,
Got my new EMO one week ago and i have been really loving this guy. That until l today when i wanted to listen to some tunes with him and see his dance moves. Even with music extremely loud on my 45 ish Watt 2.1 speakers and EMO detection sensitivity to 100 most of the times he will just listen to music but not move at all. His eyes twitch on the rhythm and maybe he slowly stands on top of his feet but that is all he will do, he will stay like that until i stop the song.
I have tested tens of songs from EDM, House, Rock genre and he eventually started dancing maybe 2 times out of 40 songs played. Since other people have EMO dancing even while singing by themself, or even letting EMO listen to vacuum cleaners or random sounds is mine broken ? I really loved the little guy but i am disappointed now knowing there might be something wrong with him. Otherwise he is really nice, and has no problems dancing on his own songs for example.
Have a nice evening,
Welcome to the EMO Community Forums, @Raul101 . . . I have moved your new topic here for this particular issue. I am sorry to hear this.
This is the official answer from LivingAI on when he does not respond by dancing to the listen command:
Try music with a louder accompaniment than the vocals. Try also to increase the volume of the music as EMO will need to calculate the drum interval of the music.
Since you have his sensitivity all of the way up and you are not getting much in the way of response, please see my post above yours for contacting Support.
My best to you.
Hello,
Thank you for your reply. Will i get support if it was bought from Robotshop who claim to be official distributor for Europe for multiple AI products and not Livingai? In a way i should, it is the same product regardless of the distribution and mine was completely new also.
Hello, @Raul101 . . . LivingAI cannot guarantee products not purchased directly from them. There are companies that buy their products and then resell them, and there is no guarantee that the products did not get damaged while in their ownership.
If you want to know about this Robotshop and if it is an official seller licensed under LivingAI, please write to service@living.ai and ask them. I think if it is not, you will have to find a repair person in Europe to have them diagnose your issue and advise what can be done.
I am sorry. I hope it all goes well for you.
Hello,
The EMO package was in mint state, with the thin foil on it. Everything was factory new. Since all parts of EMO work fine except for some random self power on/off once a day i think that the logic process behind detecting music and developing a dance for it, and that must be a design or software issue.
Either way thanks for the advice, i have mixed feelings now about EMO, while i was ultra happy with him when i got him and i am still glad to have him on my desk i am quite sad that while listening to music he will never react like others and make the moment better whit a dance.
Thanks for the ongoing support and have a nice day
